I regularly attend retreats and group meditation at a Chan Buddhism retreat center and some of the discussions and literature is written/spoken in mandarin chinese. I would like to learn the language in order to better understand the true meanings of the works we discuss. I have no prior experience other than listening to others speak the language.

I’ve noticed something. There is a definite synergy between how attractive a girl is, and how intelligent she “behaves”. I say “behaves” because I don’t really think that pretty girls are stupid. I have a theory that maybe some good looking girls try not to be as intelligent as they possibly could be, because they don’t want to intimidate guys. Any thoughts on this?
